Northern albemarle homes for saleNorthern Albemarle is home to Sugar Hollows. This is one of the most scenic and beautiful areas in the county and sits between Pasture Fence Mountains and Bucks Elbow. This is also the point where the South and North tributaries of the Moormans River intersect. The northern border of Albemarle County consists of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

Albemarle County is one of the most popular areas in Virginia. Exceptional real estate options and a wide array of entertainment and recreational activities offer unique and exceptional advantages for living and for business. It’s easy to be a part of the smooth lifestyle here while taking in the surrounding natural beauty.

The Northern Albemarle real estate market is one of the few areas of the county where people outnumber deer by a sizable number. Early development in the county focused in the Northern Sector along State Route 29. As such, Carrsbrook, Forest Lakes, and Hollymead all house large numbers of residents who have access to a wide variety of shopping, entertainment, and transportation.

Northern albemarle homes for saleThe county’s only indoor shopping mall, Fashion Square, is along Route 29, as are the area’s only Wal-Mart, Target, and Lowe’s. The majority of the County’s movie theatres occupy property along 29, and are surrounded by many local eateries as well as national chains such as Bonefish Grill, Margaritaville, Outback, and Applebee’s.

Northern Albemarle is also home to the Charlottesville Albemarle Regional Airport which is served by US Airways, United, Northwest, and Delta, as well as a host of local air taxi and charter services. General Aviation is active in Charlottesville with over 60 single engine planes based at CHO and operating off a 6,001 foot runway. Over 60% of Charlottesville’s take-offs and landings are general aviation.

However, even with all of the development along Route 29, residents still have easy access to Rio Road which takes them past the neighborhood of Dunlora and directly into Downtown Charlottesville. Route 29 is also the quickest way to Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.
